Как вам удалось выжить перед Вином Дизелем?

Используя ноги. Побить его на кулаках невозможно, он очень быстрый и он бы меня в порошок стер. Поэтому, учитывая, что мой персонаж в прошлом военный, я использовал удары и движения, взятые из кикбоксинга и боевых искусств.

А какие средства вы использовали, чтобы пробиться в жизни?

Упорство, решимость, стремление, смирение.
Суметь получить все роли, на которые проходишь пробы, - почти невозможно, но падать духом и махать на все рукой – бессмысленно. Лучше научиться принимать неизбежные отказы, оставаться сосредоточенным на цели и уметь ждать.

Уметь ждать?

Я понимаю, терпение – не сексапильность (смется), но оно крайне важно. Так что я научился.

У вас когда-нибудь было желание "выйти из игры"?

Бессчетное количество раз. Были периоды, когда меня не звали даже на пробы, и кем я только ни работал, чтобы перебиться: вышибалой в ночном клубе, конферансье в кабаре, пиарщиком, певцом. Даже "мнимым покупателем" (тот, кто инкогнито проверяет в магазинах качество обслуживания клиентов) в Selfridges и Harrods.

Когда все изменилось?

В 2009 году. Я играл в "Rent" в Dogmar Theater, маленьком, но рейтинговом театре лондонского Вест-Энда. Я узнал, что набирают каст на Small change, комедию Peter Gill, действие которой перенесено в Кардифф, в Уэльсе. Меня не хотели даже допускать на прослушивание, но я написал режиссеру: и получил главную роль.

Простите, а что вы написали?

Меня зовут Люк Эванс, мне 28 лет, я валлиец и очень хотел бы встретиться с вами. На следующий день мне назначили встречу, хотя никто меня не знал, - в конце концов, я всего лишь 9 лет топтал театральные подмостки (иронически вздыхает). И я впервые встретился с директором по кинематографическому кастингу.

Который затем предложил вам "Битву Титанов", "Неотразимую Тамару", "Мушкетеров"…

"Форсаж 6" и "Хоббита". Стать частью мира Толкина – это было исполнением мечты и действительно невероятным опытом.

В каком смысле невероятным?

Прежде всего, потому, что режиссер – Питер Джексон, а еще потому, что он позволил мне познакомиться с Новой Зеландией. Место такое далекое, что возникает ощущение, будто находишься в другом мире. Я попробовал самые возбуждающие экстремальные виды спорта, а из-за разницы во времени с Великобританией почти не поддерживал контакта со своей семьей. Я был так поглощен, что по окончании съемок у меня возникло легкое ощущение пустоты.

Чему вы научились в тех краях?

Я усовершенствовал умение ездить верхом, это гораздо сложнее, чем кажется. Достичь гармонии с живым существом и его личностью – потрясающе. Лошади – умные создания и требуют к себе уважения.

Но все же, ваша страсть – это машины.

Вести машину на огромной скорости, преследуя Вина Дизеля по улицам Лондона, и не получать штрафов, - это было супервозбуждающе. Несмотря на то, что, сказать по правде, моей первой любовью были "два колеса". Больше того, среди моих мечтаний было объехать мир в седле мотоцикла, но мне пришлось от этой мечты отказаться. Мою маму бы это не порадовало.

Оуэн Шоу – символ умного и творческого зла. Занимательный тип?

Очень. Эта роль дала мне возможность пережить опыт, которого иначе у меня случиться никак не могло. Я дал волю ребенку, который живет во мне, проехав на танке по автостраде и раздавив полтора десятка машин. Прелесть какая.

Вы будете сниматься в ремейке "Ворона". Впрочем, вы не суеверны.

Смерть Брэндона Ли была трагическим инцидентом. Невозможно было представить, что в оружии для съемок фильма окажутся настоящие пули. И поэтому я не поддался влиянию.
По моему мнению, это очень впечатляющая история - повествовательно и эмоционально. Конечно, сценарий был переработан, и я думаю, она вновь поразит воображение многих.

Сейчас ваша частная жизнь стала объектом общественного интереса. Вам это неприятно?

Да не особенно. Я живу в Лондоне с 17 лет, хожу в паб, езжу на велосипеде, делаю покупки в супермаркете и в Poundland (сеть магазинов, где все стоит фунт стерлингов). Я актер, который ведет обычную жизнь, а все остальное - пустая болтовня.

RELATIONSHIP or relation-shit? Just where does one draw the line between pleasure and pain? And can sex ever be 'just sex'?

Jonathan Hall’s Hardcore, currently showing at the Pleasance Theatre, is a bold exploration into the world of British porn and the relationships of those within it.

In any world there is a general sociological hierarchy. In that of the Brit porn industry, we find the same.

There are the 'experienced' actors, who are hard and cynical. Nothing stands in their way as they are already on top.

There are the inexperienced, yet very willing new recruits, who are bored and want to spice up their lives, or perhaps they want to kick-start their career. And then there are those that are looking for love – in all the wrong places!

The show begins with an audition for a brand spanking (being the operative word) new dick flick. The lads are all quizzed on various things, ranging from their background to their most arousing moment.

Having already been dubbed 'most promising newcomer' at the Stiffies, the Gay erotic Oscars, Craig, played by the stunning Luke Evans, is an old hat of the industry.

His experience has taught him to be cold when it comes to any form of intimacy. He claims he is able to compartmentalize his relationships with on and off-screen lovers. For him, sex is about 'excitement – energy… no complications. No shit'.

Enter Martin, played by the incredibly talented Phil Matthews, the yin to Craig’s yang.

Martin is in no doubt a shameless romantic. He is new to London, new to gay porn. To Martin, it is an opportunity to become infamous, but, hey, if he finds 'Mr Right' along the way, then that’s an extra added bonus.

Martin is sweet, slightly naive, yet he has a wickedly devilish side. He has a fabulous sense of humour and is ever the optimist.

The gorgeous Simon Thomas plays the lovable 'red blooded straight guy', Kevin, a budding actor, who believes this film is just the kick along his career needs.

It will not only demonstrate his prowess as an actor, it will also show off his dramatic versatility. After all, 'a straight man in a gay film, what could be more versatile than that?'

Thomas is absolutely hilarious and he had the audience in stitches. In my opinion, his gay denial stole the show!

Last, but certainly not least, is the sweetly innocent, Robert. Played by Christopher Redmond, he is childlike and tied to an older man of whom he yearns to break free.

Robert has decided to do the film as a way of spicing up his life. His boyfriend is almost 30 years his senior and although he is very loyal he longs for a life of glamour and fame.

When they all first meet at the auditions for 'Hot Shooting Guys II', the sexual tension between Craig and Martin is explosive.

They both act very nonchalant, as though there is absolutely no attraction, but anyone with eyes could see straight through it. After a while, they inevitably end up spending the night together.

This causes all sorts of complications on set.

Craig is not the sort to sleep with someone more than once and the sсript dictates that they must again share a bed.

Martin, however, feels the film shoot is an opportunity to win Craig’s fading interest. It is a turning point for both parties.

For Craig, the situation opens up too many old wounds and he freaks out and leaves. The thought of attachment scares him to death and he isn’t about to let someone back into his scarred heart.

For Martin, the brutal treatment he receives changes him inside. He becomes cold, heartless and an egotistical exhibitionist; much like the man that left him for dead.

Hardcore is extremely well-written, full of comic genius and tremendously thought-provoking.

It is a poignant exploration into a previously unknown world. It’s an exposé of just what goes on behind the scenes. And it has a good laugh about it along with eye candy galore!

HARDCORE opens with Craig (Luke Evans), chiselled skin flick actor, wearing his winter coat, telling us why he’s top of his game.
The disappointed sighs in the packed audience give way when he peels off the layers, delivering the rest of his porn soliloquy dressed in just his Calvins.
Transferring from a successful run in Edinburgh, Jonathan Hall’s enjoyable gaze behind the scenes of a gay porn film is high on gratuitous nudity but don’t let that put you off.
The audition for a new British gay porn film brings together four potential performers headed by Craig who claims experience despite only being in two films. Kevin (Simon Thomas) is the straight actor broadening his range, Robert (Chris Redmond) works in a dull finance job while Martin (Phil Matthews) interjects in every conversation and talks to himself.
Four disparate characters become involved in a game of underpants-only twister without resorting to contrived double entendres or flippant asides. It’s a credit to the writing that they’re able to strike up a realistic camaraderie flitting between the nervousness of having sex on screen with the need to compartmentalise, keeping relationships professional.
The acting is great, especially Luke Evans (Craig) who exudes the kind of confidence that comes from having to fake an orgasm every night to a hall full of strange people. Chris Redmond, as Robert, also portrays a character of such endearing innocence that he provides a welcome interlude for the neutrals not fixated on Craig’s constant nudity. The only gripe is that after the interval the abbreviated second half becomes almost so choked full of gay porn and clumsy relationship clichés that all the fun begins to wash away.

Появились сообщения о том, что Люк Эванс, наряду с Уэсом Бентли, Джейком Джиленхоллом и Беном Аффлеком, рассматривается в качестве претендента для прохождения скрин-тестов на роль Бэтмена. Тесты пройдут в сентябре, результаты будут известны к октябрю. Бентли рекомендует Кристофер Нолан, за кандидатуру Джиленхолла выступает сценарист Дэвид Гойер.
